As a profession that deals with the study and Design of habitats, Architecture is a meta-discipline and has a strong relation to the Humanities as compared to a technical course. It demands considerable self motivation from the individual student. Apart from the core subject of Architectural Design, the course content ranges from technical subjects such as Structural Design, Environmental science, Acoustics, Quantity survey and Disaster management mitigation to humanities such as History, Sociology, Philosophy and Literature. The course also provides strong management training to the students on areas such as Professional Practice, Project management, Public speaking and Peer learning and exposes the student to various vocational skills such as Carpentry, Fabrication, digital techniques and Photography.
